Redesigning Connection:
A Human-Centered Approach to the VA Volunteer Experience
VA Red Coat Ambassador Program Redesign
Enhancing Volunteer Experience and Patient Support through Human-Centered Design
The VA Red Coat Ambassador (RCA) program connects volunteers with veterans to provide guidance and support within hospital environments. Through research and observation, key challenges were identified — an aging volunteer base, inconsistent training, and patient anxiety during navigation.
The redesign introduced digital training tools, youth recruitment initiatives, and lightweight assistive wheelchairs to reduce volunteer strain. A QR-code system was also added, allowing patients to easily request help and connect with RCAs.
This human-centered redesign improved volunteer engagement, reduced physical effort, and enhanced the overall experience for veterans through empathy-driven design.
Part of a collaborative design team exploring the VA Red Coat / Embossed Hospital system. Contributions focused on field research and user interviews, translating real-world insights into early design ideas that guided the project direction.
Augmented Reality, Smart Assistance, UX for Everyday Living
AR Glass — Smart Cooking Assistant
Blending Augmented Reality with Everyday Cooking
This project explores how augmented reality can simplify meal preparation and reduce food waste through real-time guidance and personalized interaction. Designed as part of the Hook the Cook concept, AR Glass assists home cooks by projecting step-by-step instructions, ingredient measurements, and visual cues directly into their field of view — keeping their hands free while cooking.
Focused on families in busy urban settings, the concept aims to save time, reduce grocery costs, and promote confident home cooking. The design emphasizes intuitive interaction, safety, and adaptability, bridging digital convenience with the warmth of homemade meals.
Part of a user-centered design study integrating AR technology into daily routines to enhance cooking efficiency and enjoyment.
Hook the Cook — Your Virtual Kitchen Companion
Hook the Cook App — Smart Cooking for Modern Families
Hook the Cook is a UX case study and concept app designed to simplify home cooking for busy families.
The project focuses on saving time, reducing food waste, and improving meal planning through intelligent recipe suggestions and guided cooking experiences.
Using AR and smart assistance, the app helps home cooks prepare meals efficiently while staying within their budgets and using available ingredients.
EventHarbor — A UX Case Study on Inclusive Design for Retirees
EventHarbor — Recreation and Connection for Retirees
EventHarbor is a UX design project focused on enhancing the social and recreational experiences of retirees.
The app helps older adults discover local activities, connect with peers, and maintain active lifestyles through a simple, accessible, and inclusive interface.
By combining thoughtful interaction design with empathy-driven research, the project reimagines how technology can foster well-being, purpose, and community among retirees.
CubicFarm — Designing the Future of Urban Agriculture
CubicFarm — Sustainable Indoor Farming for a Changing World
CubicFarm is a research and strategic design project focused on analyzing and improving an advanced modular indoor farming system.
The study explored the company’s sustainability mission, market position, and business challenges to identify opportunities for growth and innovation.
Through SWOT and financial analysis, the project revealed key issues such as high production costs and limited public awareness, proposing solutions like global expansion, farmer training programs, and localized “CubicFarm Schools” to prepare communities for future food demand
Catalizor — Branding a Sustainable Future
Catalizor — Bridging People, Products, and Sustainable Growth
Catalizor is a branding and systems design concept inspired by the catalytic process — accelerating change through connection.
The project envisions a platform that links small growers, manufacturers, and service providers in the vertical farming ecosystem.
Through research on climate change, user behavior, and sustainable practices, Catalizor aims to make modern farming accessible, customizable, and culturally engaging.
The identity combines innovation and empathy — symbolizing growth, creativity, and a shared future of self-sustainability.
